What’s It All About?
Recent improvements to the towpath in Market Harborough have been very well received by users from across the town. This new Adoption Group, which has been set up by the Logan and Town Centre Neighbourhood Forum, will help to ensure that it remains a beautiful and safe place for walkers, runners, cyclists and dog walkers alike.
What’s Involved?
Regular working groups will help the Canal & River Trust achieve this by carrying out such tasks as cutting back vegetation from the towpath, trimming overhanging branches, litter picking, sowing grass and flower seeds, and cleaning signage.
Who Can Help?
Anyone can volunteer to help with the Adoption Group. You don’t have to be a member of the Logan and Town Centre Neighbourhood Forum, or live in the Logan area. You don’t have to commit to being a regular volunteer, just come along when you can.
How Do I Get Involved?
Volunteers will need to complete a registration form. We will then contact you whenever we have a working group session planned, and you can come along on the day if you are able.
What Support Will I Get?
There will be a briefing at the start of each session, to explain what work is needed. This will include Health and Safety information, and any necessary advice for use of equipment.
High Viz Jackets and tools will be provided, but volunteers are asked to wear sensible footwear, and bring their own gloves.
